True Colors Symphony
#Be True #Be Colors
It is our differences that make us shine
True Colors Symphony (TCS) nurtures the musical talent of the differently-abled and providing them with various platforms to shine. Being the largest all-inclusive orchestra in Hong Kong, we encourage interactions between people of different backgrounds. Our members include children, teenagers, adults, senior citizens, ethnic minorities, the visually-impaired, hearing-impaired, physically-impaired, students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other special educational needs. Advocating “Be True, Be Colors”, we support inclusion, celebrate differences, demonstrate abilities and excellence we can achieve together.
True Colors Symphony comprises a wide range of western instruments from strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion. We also welcome singers and choir members. Differently-abled musicians who show potential in music would have a chance receiving a grant from the foundation to further their musical training.
The inaugural performance of True Colors Symphony "When You Believe" was successfully held at concert hall, Hong Kong Cultural Centre on January 12, 2020, touching many hearts and won a 3-minutes standing ovation from the audience.
Project Goals
#Betrue #Becolors
Our advocate is to Be True, Be Colors and promote acceptance, forgiveness and harmony in the society.
Project goals of TCS are divided into three directions:
1) Annual concert would take place in order to spread the message of inclusion and positivity
2) Music chambers will be formed within our members to pave them a new career path
3) Training scholarship for special needs music students showing potential
Our Mission
Making the World a Better Place
Education is to lead out one's potential to show us what they are capable of instead of what they are expected to be. It is our differences that make us shine. We are convinced that the world needs more empathy for a better place and positive values are to be instilled in children in young age.
The True Colors Symphony advocates social inclusion and is strongly believed that social inclusion is reciprocal. Everyone of us should be given the opportunity to experience and exposure interacting people who are different.
Be Part of US!
If you are passionate about music and willing to devote time attending rehearsals and taking part in performance during the year, we want to you to be part of the family! Please send a 2-3 minute video or audio clip of your musical performance to tsc@pmf.org.hk. Shortlisted candidates would be invited to an audition.
