'Give Me a Brick' transforms discarded interlocking plastic bricks into handcrafted musical instruments, creating opportunities for people, protecting the planet, and inspiring communities through music. By bringing together sustainability, inclusion and the performing arts, we believe every brick can be transformed into a precision-crafted musical instrument - but a symbol of hope, resilience and the power of new possibilities.
Help Build More Than An Instrument
We're looking for passionate individuals to become our first team of Voluntary Lead Builders.
As a Lead Builder, you won't simply assemble brick violins.
You'll help establish the craftsmanship, quality and training standards that will inspire and guide future generations of volunteer makers. Together, we'll transform discarded bricks into instruments that create opportunities, connect communities and change lives.
From 24 to 26 August 2026, a selected group of volunteers will join a special hands-on building session in Hong Kong with the maker behind the brick violin. Participants will witness the violin being built from scratch and learn directly from the creative process behind this unique instrument.
These volunteers will also play an important role in the next stage of the project. As future lead builders, they will help guide and support disadvantaged groups who will take part in building the violin, passing on skills, confidence, and the spirit of inclusive music-making.
What You'll Do

Learn the Craft
Receive hands-on training in the construction of our handcrafted brick violins.

Become a Lead Builder
Develop the skills and confidence to become one of our certified Lead Builders, supporting future instrument production.

Mentor Future Makers
Guide and train new volunteers, helping them learn the building process while ensuring every instrument meets our quality standards.
